We can’t believe it’s the end of April already, otherwise known as Month 2 of New Life. It felt like April went by super fast, in the slowest way possible. Us, every day: Ugh, there are still 5 more hours until dinnertime. Us, every week: What? Friday already?
On the whole, we have all been very lucky. We are all healthy, and so are our families. We all have homes we can safely shelter in, and enough food to eat, and access to the internet. On the other hand, we also all have children under the age of five, so smut is the only thing keeping us sane right now.
Without further ado, here were our top reads in April:
Ingrid’s Choice: Ruling the Princess by Christi Barth
Ingrid doesn’t usually dig Imaginary Monarchy Smut, but she makes an exception for this one.
Holly’s Choice: Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon
Holly finally jumped on the Ice Planet bandwagon, and had no regrets whatsoever. This book is ridiculous, fun, and easy breezy reading. Perfect escapism!
Erin’s Choice: Girl Gone Viral by Alisha Rai
Bodyguard/heiress forced proximity romance, where the characters show they deeply care about each other through their actions. Need we say more?
Other Fun Stuff We Did
- Wrote a quick and dirty primer to Mia Sosa’s writing style (or check out March’s edition, on Mariana Zapata)
- Holly yelled about smirking
- Erin yelled about editing
- Shared a bunch of My First Smut stories (want us to feature you? Here’s the form)
And we made bookmarks! The original plan was to hand them out when we met fellow smut readers at author talks and the like, but that’s not happening so… That means our loyal readers get them instead!
If you would like a bookmark (or 5), send us an email with your address, and we’ll mail some to you. Doing our part to keep the USPS solvent, one letter at a time.
If you’re in the US, Holly will include a random smut book from her TBR shelf. No promises on quality – it will probably be a weird book that she snagged from the Little Free Library that isn’t speaking to her soul right now.
Here’s what we’re looking forward to reading in May
Lots of foodie romance, plus more than one book set in Alaska! Dragons! Time travel! Suspense! So much to get excited about!
