How old were you?
I was in junior high, so 13/14
How’d you get your hands on the book?
From the school library. We had to have a signed consent form from a parent because of the content, so I may have left out some of the details when I told my mom what it was about.
What was the reading experience like?
I felt like I was being rebellious. It was my first experience reading anything even remotely explicit. It also left me with a lifelong thirst for smut!!
What made the experience special?
I was always one of those kids who never really fit in, but since all the cool girls were allowed to read it, the fact that my mom also let me helped me feel a little less an outcast.
What role does smut play in your life?
I love reading and writing smut. It’s a way to escape reality and drool over some hot men without having to deal with all the real-life strife that comes with relationships.
Bio
Samantha Michaels was born in 1973 in the small town of Abington, PA and was raised and still lives in Hatboro, PA (both suburbs of Philadelphia). She is married to her high school sweetheart and they have a rescue dog, a beautiful Black Lab named Holly. When she’s not writing or working at her full-time job, she enjoys watching her Philly sports team (hopefully) win, listening to heavy metal/hard rock music, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Her love of reading began at a young age, thanks to her mother and Sesame Street. Her mom read to her constantly, and by three years old, she was reading on her own, and hasn’t stopped. This eventually turned into a love of writing. She was writing for herself and then for a small group of friends, one of whom told her she should be writing books. She took her friends’ advice and has since published her first romance book, Leather and Lace, released April 20, 2021.
