Review: The Pilot and the Puck-Up by Pippa Grant (2018)

Heat Factor: Men who like strong women = sexy.

Character Chemistry: Instantaneous, but with near-constant fails. It’s sublime.

Plot: Absolutely badass female zero-gravity pilot and business owner meets a gigantic professional hockey player. Competition commences. Plot twist: she beats him at EVERYTHING and it never occurs to him that his masculinity could be threatened by that

Overall: It’s refreshing, it’s hilarious, it’s riveting, and it’s going to make you think about gender roles (but in a genuinely subtle, sexy way)

Review: An Officer’s Vow by Penny Hampson (2019)

Heat Factor: Not too steamy, but a lot of tension

Character Chemistry: Starts out pretty innocently and then gradually intensifies

Plot: Young heiress escapes a machinating cousin with the help of young, wounded officer.

Overall: It’s a straight up stress-reliever. Fall right in and enjoy the ride.

Review: The Corsair’s Captive by Ruby Dixon (2017)

Corsairs, Book 1

Heat Factor: You won’t want to admit that it’s actually doing anything for you, but it kind of will. You don’t have to tell anyone.

Character Chemistry: Good stuff, considering the interspecies complications.

Plot: Human slave woman is rescued by giant blue alien pirate! And of course they fall in love and it’s not at all weird!

Overall: Listen, if you can get past the horns and the tail and the weird blue scales…okay, if you can get past the owner/slave dynamic…okay. So it’s weird. But you won’t NOT love it.

Review: Charming as Puck by Pippa Grant (2019)

Heat Factor: You’ll start it for the steam, but you’ll stick with it for the one-liners.

Character Chemistry: It starts off strong and just pretty much stays that way

Plot: Pro hockey player and very nice nerd veterinarian start off as friends with benefits and veterinarian grows a backbone, wherein pro hockey player suddenly shapes up and their relationship ends up being just genuinely nice. And hilarious.

Overall: Worth a read.
