Review: Dragon Prince’s Secret by Elva Birch (2022)

Royal Dragons of Alaska, Book #4

Reviews of the rest of the Royal Dragons of Alaska series: Book #1, Book #2, Book #3

Heat Factor: There’s really just one scene (not long) and everything else is off page

Character Chemistry: He can feel the mating bond, but she can’t!

Plot: The mysterious Kenth appears in the castle bellowing about his kidnapped daughter. His family is shocked to see him, but he’s shocked to see that the stranger in their midst is his mate.

Overall: I wasn’t as invested in Mackenzie and Kenth as I have been in other brothers’ stories, but the growth of the overarching series plot was really interesting.

Review: I’ll Be Home for Hanukkah by K.K. Hendin (2020)

The Girls in Apartment 5G, Book #1

Heat Factor: They do not even kiss, my friends.

Character Chemistry: Noam is extremely opaque, but he plays with Shayna, who is a bit tightly wound, so it’s fun

Plot: Shayna and Noam, Orthodox Jews who grew up in NYC, are suddenly and unexpectedly sent to North Pole, Alaska just weeks before Christmas, for an end-of-year review meeting with a big client

Overall: I really enjoyed this read, mostly because it’s so playful

Review: Uncharted by Adriana Anders (2021)

Survival Instincts, Book #2

Review of Survival Instincts, Book #1

Heat Factor: → The best way to get warm in the woods is to climb into a sleeping bag naked with another naked person already inside it.

Character Chemistry: I’m kind of stuck on: they’re on a chemical high from running for their lives for days on end. But sure, forever love, absolutely.

Plot: Baddies are still after the mysterious virus. This time Leo, pilot, and Elias, mysterious recluse, are running for their lives (and to save the world?)

Overall: The show-stealer is Amka, the Alaskan wilderness octogenarian lesbian badass.

Moose Springs, Alaska, Book #2

Review of Moose Springs Alaska, Book #1

Heat Factor: It was extremely ambiguous until they finally did go all the way because they were constantly fooling around but then the door closed

Character Chemistry: 🌲🌲🌲 (that’s pining, FYI)

Plot: Lana wants to save Moose Springs but ultimately answers to her family’s conglomerate. Rick is a local business owner trying to make ends meet with an uncomfortable crush on his new landlord.

Overall: aww
