Series Review

Series Review: Daughters of Arianne by Joey W. Hill (2008–2009)

Heat Factor: There’s lotsa sex. Some of it is sexy. Some of it is wild. Some of it is BDSMy. And some of it is completely bonkers.

Character Chemistry: My female essence submits to your male energy.

Plot: A girl with a fish tail and a guy with wings hang out, do some traveling, and engage in an epic battle against the forces of evil.

Overall: If you’re in the mood for bonkers morality-chain paranormal romance, then these books are wildly entertaining. With a lot of caveats.

Review: Perfect Temptation by K.B. Alan (2021)

Perfect Fit, Book #4

Review of Perfect Fit, Book # 3

Heat Factor: Well, they explore a lot of kinky play, but it’s not the same as a book that is aiming for titillating kink. If that makes sense.

Character Chemistry: The trust comes fast but the emotion builds slow

Plot: Nathalie had a bad Dom and decided BDSM wasn’t for her, but when she discusses her history with a good Dom, she realizes she might be able to safely explore her fantasies again.

Overall: This is an example of when really spicy content doesn’t feel spicy because it’s so thoughtful

Character Chemistry: It. Is. So. Angsty.

Plot: Natalie is kidnapped from her bath by her heretofore unknown, sexy AF bodyguard and flown to meet her also heretofore unknown Billionaire Russian mobster father. And that’s just the first three chapters.

Overall:

Review: Dream Chaser by Kristen Ashley (2020)

Dream Team, Book 2

Heat Factor: If you had asked me earlier, I would not have said that being collared is sexy. But I am totally buying what Ashley is selling here.

Character Chemistry: Well, I wanted them together in book 1, so…yeah, they’ve got chemistry

Plot: “I want to be with you.” “Never gonna happen.” “You know what? Fine.” … “Actually, not fine, you just got kidnapped and dragged into a dangerous situation with an ever-increasing body count, and I am not okay with that.”

Overall: Ermagherd, worth the wait!
