Review: The Siren by Tiffany Reisz (2012)

Thank you to Jess at Escape on a Page for the push needed to finally check out Tiffany Reisz. (Here’s her review of Winter Tales, which is what convinced me.)

Original Sinners, Book 1

Heat Factor: There’s flogging but no descriptions of genitalia.

Character Chemistry: Nora is all that is desirable, and therefore has pretty good chemistry with just about everyone.

Plot: Erotica Writer and Stuffy British Editor revise her latest book.

Overall: Please read this book so I have someone to talk to about it.

Review: Eight Kinky Nights: an f/f Chanukah romance by Xan West (2019)

Heat Factor: We open with fisting and go from there

Character Chemistry: Leah and Jordan are unfailingly kind and gentle with each other

Plot: Jordan has been suppressing her desires since forever, so her best friend gives her kink lessons

Overall: An object lesson in compassion

Series Review

Series Review: The Dirty Billionaire Trilogy by Meghan March (2015)

Heat Factor: I am incinerated.

Character Chemistry: Surprisingly good, considering how poorly they communicate

Plot: Let’s make a marriage out of a one night stand because the sex is THAT GOOD

Overall: Can’t read just one book

Dueling Review, Rant, Recommended Read

Dueling Review: Priest by Sierra Simone (2015)

If Holly were to review this book, she would call it a Recommended Read. If Ingrid were to review this book, she would write a Rant. Clearly, we needed to review this book together.

Welcome to Dueling Reviews.

Moderated by Erin, who has no emotional investment in this book at all.

Ingrid’s Take:

Heat Factor: It’s scorching…which is fitting, because with the stuff these two pulled in a Catholic church they may very well end up somewhere toasty.

Character Chemistry: I don’t dig what they dig…but they dig it, and each other, a LOT.

Plot: Catholic priest ends up attracted to a woman who is apparently irresistible but has no hobbies or interests or personality and they end up finding a new, sexy spiritual path together.

Overall: This book has some majorly interesting dynamics but I had to put it down out of sheer frustration many times (and not the FUN kind of frustration, either).

Holly’s Take:

Heat Factor: Absolutely filthy, in the best way

Character Chemistry: Father Bell would have chemistry with a cardboard box

Plot: Catholic priest has sex, angst ensues

Overall: I had so much fun reading this book
