Review: The Executive Office Series by Tal Bauer (2016-2017)

Heat Factor: It is a not insubstantial amount of soul-searing lovemaking

Character Chemistry: OMG, I was so invested

Plot: There’s a global conspiracy to burn down the world, and the US president and his secret service detail lead find themselves right in the middle of it

Overall: The three primary books are a total of 52 hours and 48 minutes in audio plus there’s a 200 page holiday interlude story as well, and I devoured them all in 5 days. What even is sleep?

Review: Secret Service by Tal Bauer (2022)

Heat Factor: I might go so far as to say lotsa sex, but it’s not lotsa super explicit sex, but also that first BJ will probably live rent free in my head for a while

Character Chemistry: Love at first sight + so much angst

Plot: The president and his Secret Service detail lead are in love. Also the president has disappeared. Without his detail lead (in case that wasn’t obvious).

Overall: It’s present-past (roughly) alternating non-linear, so I was thrown for a minute…until I was totally sucked in

Review: The Enforcer by Katrina Jackson

The Family, Book #3

Review of The Family, Book #2

Heat Factor: Mercy. It is absolutely filthy. *fans self*

Character Chemistry: Her spikey spots fit in his soft spots

Plot: “What kind of criminal shenanigans did my family get me into?” → “Guess I’m gonna make the most of this unplanned vacation on the Amalfi Coast.”

Overall: AHHHHH! Cliffhanger! (Not for Zoe and Alfonso, but this is such a dramatic series!)

Review: Proper Scoundrels by Allie Therin (2021)

Heat Factor: Well hello, on page sex, I did not expect to see you here

Character Chemistry: Uh, grumpy cynic is soft for tortured cinnamon roll. YES PLEASE

Plot: The relics are BACK! With an aura-sucking vampire paranormal, a rude English Viscount who finds himself in the middle of a situation he knows nothing about, and a Puerto Rican nullification magic paranormal who has an overdeveloped sense of responsibility and a tragic past

Overall: I am so delighted I might go back and read Magic in Manhattan all over again so I can get some more vibes

Review: Agent Zero by Janet Walden-West (2021)

Region Two Series, Book #1

Heat Factor: She does pull-ups during sex, because she is that bad-ass (it’s sexier than it sounds)

Character Chemistry: Bruce is an arrogant asshole, but Vee seems to like that about him

Plot: He is attacked by a giant lizard monster, and she protects him

Overall: A really fun reading experience
