Review: Agent Zero by Janet Walden-West (2021)

Region Two Series, Book #1

Heat Factor: She does pull-ups during sex, because she is that bad-ass (it’s sexier than it sounds)

Character Chemistry: Bruce is an arrogant asshole, but Vee seems to like that about him

Plot: He is attacked by a giant lizard monster, and she protects him

Overall: A really fun reading experience

Review: Serving Sin by Angelina M. Lopez (2021)

Filthy Rich, Book #3

Reviews of Filthy Rich Book #1 and Book #2

Heat Factor: Frequently interrupted, so there’s lots of foreplay, but full penetration doesn’t happen until the very end. It must be noted that Lopez’s sex writing is top-notch, with or without penetration.

Character Chemistry: Is there a grade higher than A+?

Plot: I must protect you! / I am a powerful woman, but I accept your protection.

Overall: A satisfying end to the series

Review: Brass Carriages and Glass Hearts by Nancy Campbell Allen (2020)

Steampunk Proper Romance, Book 4

Heat Factor: Their first kiss was boring

Character Chemistry: Hate and love are two sides of the same coin

Plot: It’s marketed as Steampunk Cinderella but it’s more enemies-to-lovers / bodyguard / road trip

Overall: DNF at 50%. I was slogging and then just couldn’t take it any more when Gus-Gus the friendly pumpkin farmer appeared.

Review: The Billionaire Needs a Bodyguard by Ravina Hilliard (2020)

Heat Factor: Spicy enough

Character Chemistry: He berates her and does angry seduction and she melts under his caresses, so you know I am ALL about it

Plot: She’s his bodyguard, but he thinks she’s an escort/con artist

Overall: Once I started pretending this book was published in 1980, my enjoyment increased dramatically
