Review: Witch Please by Ann Aguirre (2021)

Fix-It Witches, Book #1

Heat Factor: She climbs him like a tree, so that’s fun…but I would have liked a little more communication beforehand

Character Chemistry: They were so not on the same page but also so into each other

Plot: So many drama shenanigans

Overall: Oof

Review: Battle Royal by Lucy Parker (2021)

Palace Insiders, #1

Heat Factor: A little bit of spice to go with all those sweets

Character Chemistry: The way she makes his eye twitch

Plot: Rival bakery owners compete on bid for royal wedding cake (plus a bunch of other stuff)

Overall: I feel very emotionally manipulated right now; this is not *necessarily* a bad thing

Review: Agent Zero by Janet Walden-West (2021)

Region Two Series, Book #1

Heat Factor: She does pull-ups during sex, because she is that bad-ass (it’s sexier than it sounds)

Character Chemistry: Bruce is an arrogant asshole, but Vee seems to like that about him

Plot: He is attacked by a giant lizard monster, and she protects him

Overall: A really fun reading experience

Review: Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake by Alexis Hall (2021)

Winner Bakes All, Book #1

Heat Factor: There’s a decent amount of mediocre sex, and then some spectacular sex.

Character Chemistry: Well…it’s complicated.

Plot: Love at the Great British Bake Off!!!!! (Obviously Alexis Hall is not looking for a lawsuit, so the name was changed and it’s not in a tent.)

Overall: I was feeling a bit anxious about where this was going in the first chunk of the book, but ended up loving it.

Review: A Taste of Honey by Rose Lerner (2017)

Lively St. Lemeston, Book 4

Heat Factor: There are 9 chapters and they have sex 7 times

Character Chemistry: They are both making sacrifices for the other, “Gift of the Magi” style.

Plot: Betsy decides to seduce her boss, because it’s time for something to happen.

Overall: This was exactly the book I needed in the moment I read it. It’s short, sexy, fun, and thoughtful.
