Review: Melt for You by J.T. Geissinger (2018)

Slow Burn, Book 2

Heat Factor: This series is called “Slow Burn,” so don’t be surprised when the sex happens pretty late in the story.

Character Chemistry: It’s obvious to everyone but Joellen that Cameron is completely smitten.

Plot: Joellen’s new neighbor is suuuuuper annoying and suuuuuper hot and somehow now he’s giving her kissing lessons.

Overall: I really liked this one, but I also know that some readers may find some parts of this book challenging.

Review: Daddy Crush by A. Anders (2020)

Heat Factor: I’d imagine it’s everything you’d expect in a sexy version of “virgin learning how to sex” story

Character Chemistry: Woo, boy, do these two want to jump each other’s bones

Plot: Sheltered mid-20-something wants to experience all the sex and romance that her family wouldn’t allow now that she’s independent, but the only man who does it for her is her standoffish silver fox neighbor

Overall: This just scrapes the surface of daddy kink

Review: To Charm a Naughty Countess by Teresa Romain (2014)

The Matchmaker Trilogy, Book 2

Heat Factor: Detachment → sexytimes → detachment

Character Chemistry: I don’t understand how they simultaneously work so well together and communicate so badly, but the give and take is wonderful to read

Plot: Eccentric Duke comes to London to find a wealthy bride. Naughty Countess gives him courtship lessons.

Overall: Just the book I needed

Review: His Grumpy Childhood Friend by Jackie Lau (2020)

The Cider Bar Sisters, Book 2

Heat Factor: Fake dates, real sexytimes

Character Chemistry: Mike is so so in love with Charlotte

Plot: Charlotte decides she wants dating lessons, randomly runs into her childhood best friend at a bar, asks him to teach her how to date. He agrees, despite his lack of experience.

Overall: More angst than I was expecting, but still an utterly charming read.

Review: Beauty Tempts the Beast by Lorraine Heath (2020)

Sins for All Seasons, Book #6

Heat Factor: She wears a sexy red corset with black lace for seduction purposes…

Character Chemistry: The fact that it was in no way based on seduction lessons made it perfect

Plot: Ostracized former aristocratic woman accepts proposition of brothel owner (among other things) to teach the prostitutes refinement so they can get new jobs. Also, seduction lessons. Ish.

Overall: Heath is just a really good storyteller. That is all.
