Heat Factor: It’s pretty fraught and steamy
Character Chemistry: There are four pairs in this generational story, and all of them have this desperate, meant-to-be energy
Plot: This is a romance that spans centuries and revolves around the sirens of the Island of Kell. It’s very gothic and desperate and sexy.
Overall: It was a tad slow for me in the beginning but then I got really into it and ended up loving it.
Heat Factor: It’s cold in Iron Age Scotland in February. Gotta do something to keep warm!
Character Chemistry: Him: “I need a woman so my village doesn’t die out. You’ll do.” Her: “Look at those yummy biceps! Did you say something?”
Plot: Druid magic sends Connall to San Francisco, where he places a Craigslist ad for a wife. Ashley answers because her current life suuuucks and ends up in 2nd century Scotland.
Overall: This book is ridiculous and I was utterly tickled.

Character Chemistry: He acts from duty, she acts from being annoyed
Plot: Arranged marriage, clan takeover, battle of wills
Overall: If you like a Highlander bodice ripper, you’ll probably like this

Plot: Heiress kidnapped by Bad Man, married “for her own protection” to badass Highland laird
