Review: Black Witch Magic by Mila Nicks (2020)

Paranormal Hunters, Book 1

Heat Factor: They have extremely bad sex and are both absolutely mortified. This scene is excellent. (There is also a bit of good sex at the end.)

Character Chemistry: They’re both misanthropes who like reading. I buy it.

Plot: Selene’s family is cursed. And she’s a witch. Aiden is a paranormal investigator who definitely does not believe in magic and wants to do a show about her grandma.

Overall: Mostly fun

Review: Love is a Rogue by Lenora Bell (2020)

Wallflowers vs Rogues, Book 1

Heat Factor: The hanky panky scenes are steamy but

Character Chemistry: The romance feels a tad forced and the couple seems kind of ill-fitting so

Plot: When bibliophile Lady Beatrice Bentley inherits a small property, she grudgingly hires the carpenter who lives and works on her brother’s property to complete the work as she struggles to retain it. They don’t seem to have much in common and they certainly don’t live in the same social spheres, but they’re drawn to one another nonetheless.

Overall: It was a lovely read but I did struggle to see how the couple fit together and the “teasing” was a little clumsy

Review: Rash and Rationality by Ellen Mint (2020)

Happily Ever Austen, Book 2

Heat Factor: The sex scenes come late, but I was legit fanning myself.

Character Chemistry: Believable best friends with confusing pants feelings.

Plot: Gender swapped Sense and Sensibility. But only the Marianne / Willoughby / Colonel Brandon bit.

Overall: The Official Austen Retelling Expert at The Smut Report Approves.

Review: Love in the Stacks by Delilah Peters (2019)

Love in New Bedford, Book 2

Heat Factor: There may be snow outside, but in here, the temperature is rising. And rising. And rising.

Character Chemistry: After recovering from an early misstep, these characters have exemplary communication skills

Plot: Librarians have sex in the library on Christmas Eve

Overall: I mean. It’s an Erotic Christmas Novella. What more could you ask for?
