Review: Immortal Born by Lynsay Sands (2019)

Argeneau Series, Book #30

Heat Factor: Excepting that they have to stay joined for a half hour, it’s not super sexy

Character Chemistry: A little bit of fated mates, so we’re so-so here

Plot: Immortal flies in to meet his maybe life mate, is embroiled in all her problems with other rogue immortals

Overall: I was so delighted by the Argeneaux that I am gutted that this book relies on a homophobic characterization

Character Chemistry: He’s the only one who supports her

Plot: Soapy nonsense

Overall: I would say your enjoyment of this book is pretty dependent on your tolerance for messy protagonists.

Plot: Druid magic sends Connall to San Francisco, where he places a Craigslist ad for a wife. Ashley answers because her current life suuuucks and ends up in 2nd century Scotland.

Overall: This book is ridiculous and I was utterly tickled.

Review: Temporary Wife Temptation by Jayci Lee (2020)

Heirs of Hansol, Book 1

Heat Factor: Once they finally give in to their temptation, it gets pretty steamy

Character Chemistry: They are hot, driven, and living together. What else do you need?

Plot: Exactly what you would expect from the title

Overall: Now I understand why people read category romances
