Review: Hairpin Curves by Elia Winters (2020)

Heat Factor: It’s a slow and scorching burn

Character Chemistry: It comes on slow and then BAM

Plot: Megan and Scarlett were BEST friends but had a falling out. When their old friend begs them to attend her wedding in Quebec, they agree to pool resources in order to roadtrip there. And boom goes the dynamite.

Overall: This book had me up until 2 am and I wasn’t even mad about it.

Review: First and Only by Allie Winters (2020)

Suncoast University, Book 4

Reviews of previous books in the Suncoast University series: Book 1, Book 2, Book 3

Heat Factor: So, so steamy it’ll be a hazard for the glasses-wearing folks

Character Chemistry: They didn’t stand a chance…just the way we like it!

Plot: Jake needs a tutor after his athletic career goes down the toilet after an injury and Eden needs to learn how to be a young adult, basically. A sexy, coming-of-age, teach-me-how-to-do-sexy-things type book that unfolds deliciously slow.

Overall: This whole series is just itching to be read in one long weekend.

Review: Avalon’s Last Knight by Jackson C. Garton (2020)

Heat Factor: There is sex once, but it doesn’t really stand out against everything else going on

Character Chemistry: They’re soulmates because they’re actually Lancelot and Arthur. Ish.

Plot: Really too much to summarize here

Overall: Whaaaaaat

Review: Braking Hard by Gloria Joynt-Lang (2020)

Storm Harbor, Book 1

Heat Factor: Nothing too explicit, but the slow build up means the sexual tension is really palpable.

Character Chemistry: They bond over their love of muscle cars.

Plot: Gage and Eden are both struggling when Eden takes a job working at Gage’s garage. Sparks fly, but Eden definitely doesn’t want to bang her boss. Also, Gage has ADHD.

Overall: There are some interesting things going on in this book, but the different pieces don’t feel well-integrated.

Review: Only When It’s Us by Chloe Liese (2020)

Bergman Brothers, Book 1

Heat Factor: They’re not virgins but it’s pretty first love type stuff

Character Chemistry: Solidly “I’m going to antagonize you because that’s how we demonstrate our affection instead of being vulnerable”

Plot: A pair of 21-year-olds with baggage try to figure out how to adult

Overall: Heart eyes
