Review: Spellbound by Ophelia Silk (2021)

Heat Factor: Medium-ish heat, tastefully and sweetly done

Character Chemistry: Just so meant to be.

Plot: Two deeply lonely women find themselves thrown together in a deep and scary wood and end up finding themselves (but together)

Overall: This was like a Matryoshka doll of a story–so many details that just kinda stick in your brain and cling in the best way.

Review: The Elementalist by S.N. Hunt (2020)

Journey to Zlorta, Book 1

Heat Factor: There’s a fair amount of fantasy sizzle in here.

Character Chemistry: It was oddly flat, considering the fated mates/whoopie frequency

Plot: Sarah is kidnapped from her home after a foiled assault and brought beyond the Veil, where she learns that she is a key player in an attempted sort of magical coup, only she had no idea magic even existed.

Overall: This had so much potential but it just wasn’t fully formed.

*TW – attempted sexual assault.

Review: Venom by Dee Garcia (2019)

Rosewood Realm, Book 1

Heat Factor: Kinky blood stuff, plus both protagonists bone secondary characters. Plus incest.

Character Chemistry: A rebound situation if there ever was one.

Plot: Captain Hook is a vampire who is obsessed with Tinksley Bell. Tink is in love with Peter Pan. When Peter leaves and Tink is depressed, Hook helps her recover and also embrace her inner darkness.

Overall: I don’t even know what to tell you.

Review: Lovers Lost by Ashton Abbott (2020)

A Raedan Warrior Novella

Review of Raedan Warrior Series, Book 1

Heat Factor: There’s a lot of steam in this novella.

Character Chemistry: You would think that with these two being separated by a whole consciousness and constant injuries it wouldn’t be this hot but these two could light a glass of water on fire.

Plot: This is a supporting novella that can be standalone, but it does tie into the Raedan Warrior Series and delves into the saving of Vanya from her imprisonment and recovery.

Overall: This is a really well-paced, dark and steamy paranormal novella and I highly recommend reading it as part of the series.

Review: Heart of the Dragon by Jamie Sullivan (2018)

Heat Factor: Waggly eyebrows, for the most part

Character Chemistry: Oenyn and Richard are cute together, but it’s more about Oenyn’s growth as a young man

Plot: Oenyn, accidentally acquired by Madfall as a baby, is raised as a dragon. Richard is going to slay the dragon. Oenyn is not on board with that.

Overall: The real hero here is Madfall, whom I love.
