Review: Wonderstruck by Allie Therin (2021)

Magic in Manhattan, Book #3

Reviews of Magic in Manhattan Book #1 and Book #2

Heat Factor: Extremely low key, still fade-to-black

Character Chemistry: Every time Arthur calls Rory “Teddy” (his real name that only Arthur uses), I turn into a puddle of goo

Plot: We’re finally going to come face to face with the evil baron and save the world!

Overall: I’m glad I read this trilogy.

Blackshear Family series, Prequel Novella

Heat Factor: Two virgins together is SO FUN

Character Chemistry: The tension was killing me

Plot: Two proper, single, genteel people wind up with only one bed while trying to go about their respective Christmas plans

Review: Her Pretend Christmas Date by Jackie Lau (2020)

Cider Bar Sisters, Book 2.5

Review of Cider Bar Sisters Book 1, Book 2

Heat Factor: There’s only one (twin) bed!

Character Chemistry: I, like Julie, would very much like to be the one person who gets to see the uptight man with his tie off and his top button unbuttoned. Oh la la!

Plot: Younger sister with irregular job feels like a disappointment to her parents and lies to them about a man with whom she had a terrible date but whom they would love. So she ends up inviting him to Christmas, of course!

Overall: Well now I want to have a romantic ice skating date and a baking competition

Review: A Match Made for Thanksgiving by Jackie Lau (2019)

Holidays with the Wongs, Book 1

Heat Factor: It starts with a pretty hot one-night stand, but it’s also not heavily detailed

Character Chemistry: “I really kind of wish I hadn’t let that one-night stand just be a one-night stand.”

Plot: Two adults have one-night stand. Oops! Same two adults are set up on dates with different people at a family Thanksgiving dinner.

Overall: Totally warm fuzzy cute fun

Review: Just Like This by Cole McCade (2020)

Albin Academy, Book 2

Review of Albin Academy, Book 1

Heat Factor: To use Holly’s metric: 🍆🍆🍆

Character Chemistry: I might recommend therapy over a relationship, but it is what it is

Plot: Student is in trouble, teachers Rian and Damon process a lot of feelings

Overall: Longiloquent is not an inapt descriptor for this book
