Review: Hook, Line, and Sinker by Tessa Bailey (2022)

The Bellinger Sisters, Book #2

Review of The Bellinger Sisters, Book #1

Heat Factor: Get your fans out, it’s a steamy one

Character Chemistry: They have SUCH chemistry. It was obvious in book one, and it’s delicious in book two.

Plot: Hannah convinces her movie director boss to move their location to Westport, where she ends up rooming with her sister’s husband-to-be’s best friend, Fox. Unfortunately, Fox has a MAJOR reputation for being a deadly handsome casanova, so even though he’s got it bad for Hannah, he’s terrified of messing everything up.

Overall: Just electrifyingly steamy and so romantic…

Review: Promising Love by Sara Ohlin (2021)

Rescue Me, Book #3

Heat Factor: It’s pretty steamy. There’s a lot of whoopie going on.

Character Chemistry: They start out, without exaggeration, from the first page.

Plot: Lachlan has been in love with Ruby since he was 12—and when she finally makes a move, he jumps to conclusions while also dealing with shady happenings in the neighborhood.

Overall: I don’t think it’s a grumpy/sunshine, and I am gobsmacked to say that I think I don’t like flowery talk in my romance novels?

Series Review: Calvin’s Coffee and Donuts by Layla King (2019)

Heat Factor: It’s not hot–closed door and very tepid.

Character Chemistry: Some are a little more zingy than others, but for the most part there’s not a lot of ka-zam going on here.

Plot: At Calvin’s Coffee Shop, we meet a group of employees who all end up finding their true loves during the course of the winter season.

Overall: Honestly, I’m usually the queen of low-drama, easy-on-the-bedroom-scenes type smut but this series dragged a bit too much for me.

Review: Sailor Proof by Annabeth Albert (2021)

Shore Leave, Book #1

Heat Factor: Bed sex, bathtub sex, shower sex….lotsa sex

Character Chemistry: I feel like a heart eyes emoji right now

Plot: Two men who are absolutely not a good match engage in a fake welcome home kiss that turns into a fake relationship that turns into OMG is this a good match?!?!

Overall: This is one of those delightfully tropey romances that feels like a warm hug to read

Review: A Winter Rose by Amy Craig (2021)

Heat Factor: It’s a slowish burn but hooo boy, it gets steamy.

Character Chemistry: It’s pretty instantaneous but there are SO MANY WALLS

Plot: Julien’s bike breaks down in Eliza’s small town at the exact moment she desperately needs help to keep her flower farm going–it’s like kismet. But both Julien and Eliza have so many legitimate barriers to being together (and surviving!) that it’s hard to see how they’re going to make it work.

Overall: Such a fantastically written book, just expertly knit together.
