Review: Abduction Seduction by DJ Russo (2022)

Heat Factor: Once with the whole group, and then Taryn has a one-on-one interlude with each alien

Character Chemistry: They treat Taryn well, except for that whole lying to her thing

Plot: Taryn meets some really hot people and bangs it out with them…only to discover that they’re aliens who want her blood

Overall: Goes some unexpected places, which I liked, but the relationships could have been a tad more developed

Review: The Threefold Tie by Aster Glenn Gray (2020)

Heat Factor: Scenes as couples are closed door, but they have one interlude at the end

Character Chemistry: I felt all their feelings very intensely

Plot: Three people who have all loved each other for some time are shocked into re-examining their relationship

Overall: What a great feelings book

Review: The Golden Rush by Ariella Talix (2022)

Heat Factor: Our trio is very creative about the ways they fit their bits together.

Character Chemistry: They didn’t seem like fleshed out characters to me, so it’s hard to say that they had chemistry. But they didn’t have negative chemistry either.

Plot: What happens when a woman comes to gold rush California, when men outnumber women 100 to 1.

Overall: Very expository.

Review: The Life Revamp by Kris Ripper (2021)

The Love Study, Book #3

Heat Factor: Things really get going…and the door closes

Character Chemistry: They have a very playful relationship

Plot: Mason has a vision for his future that includes a lot of “traditional” life moments, which is all thrown into turmoil when he falls for polyamorous – and married – Diego

Overall: This book did exactly what I was hoping it would do, so success! As for the rest – at the end of the day it comes down to: Is choosing the person or the living situation more important?

Series Review: The Princess Shanyin Saga by Liliana Lee (2014)

Heat Factor: These books go on the Erotica shelf

Character Chemistry: There’s a cosmic connection, but I don’t always buy it

Plot: Princess Shanyin gets a hot young lord sent to her harem. Power plays (and lots of sex) ensue

Overall: If you’re looking for high-brow reverse-harem erotica with bonus disturbing political machinations set in 5th century China, The Obsession is excellent. If you want the HEA, read the full series—but note that The Enslavement and The Fulfillment are less tightly written.
