Review: Serving Sin by Angelina M. Lopez (2021)

Filthy Rich, Book #3

Reviews of Filthy Rich Book #1 and Book #2

Heat Factor: Frequently interrupted, so there’s lots of foreplay, but full penetration doesn’t happen until the very end. It must be noted that Lopez’s sex writing is top-notch, with or without penetration.

Character Chemistry: Is there a grade higher than A+?

Plot: I must protect you! / I am a powerful woman, but I accept your protection.

Overall: A satisfying end to the series

Character Chemistry: Angst level 1000

Plot: Marriage in trouble after cheating

Overall: I wanted this to be the cheating romance we never get, and I think it largely succeeded

A Season for Scandal, Book #3

Review of A Season for Scandal, Book #2

Heat Factor: Steam city!

Character Chemistry: For the first time, her skills are appreciated.

Plot: Angelique is desperate for money, so she’s been counting cards at the vingt-et-un table at Alexander’s gaming club. (NEVER DO THIS.) When she gets caught, Alexander offers her a job. And then her brother is arrested for murder.

Overall: This is the most romantic suspense-y of Bowen’s books I’ve read, but it works pretty well

Review: A Nordic King by Karina Halle (2018)

Nordic Royals, Book #3

Heat Factor: They like to get into that boss/nanny kink dynamic in the bedroom

Character Chemistry: With the tension of the forbidden in the mix, the chemistry was great

Plot: Nanny with secrets “Mary Poppinses” Danish King’s family, but he has secrets of his own…

Overall: Totally hit the spot

Review: Unconventional by Isabel Love (2017)

Heat Factor: The house is on fire

Character Chemistry: They really manage to be totally into each other while also playing with other partners

Plot: Two people who swore never to be in a relationship after trauma fall into a relationship

Overall: This book was really excellent…but after a book that explored so much about having a different kind of successful relationship, the ending, while totally understandable, did not feel very fresh, which bummed me out a little bit
