Character Chemistry: They are very communicative about liking each other
Plot: Edwina is hunting for ghosts in Simon’s haunted B&B and finds more than she bargained for
Overall: This one didn’t really work for me
Heat Factor: “We’ll just bang it out, and then I’ll have it out of my system.” Always a solid plan.
Character Chemistry: They do things to make the other one happy.
Plot: Helen asks her long-time friend to be her fake boyfriend so everyone will stop feeling sorry for her after her last break-up goes viral
Overall: So cute. And now I want an anatomically correct heart cake. And a charcuterie chalet.
Heat Factor: Barely kisses
Character Chemistry: I remain unconvinced
Plot: Charlotte finally comes to term with her husband’s death
Overall: Exceptionally irritating but, for some reason, I read the whole thing
Heat Factor: Once with the whole group, and then Taryn has a one-on-one interlude with each alien
Character Chemistry: They treat Taryn well, except for that whole lying to her thing
Plot: Taryn meets some really hot people and bangs it out with them…only to discover that they’re aliens who want her blood
Overall: Goes some unexpected places, which I liked, but the relationships could have been a tad more developed
The Halcyon Universe, Book 2
Heat Factor: Literally they have sex in the very last scene
Character Chemistry: I am flustered because she’s so cute!
Plot: Danya kidnaps Amy. Amy kidnaps Danya. Danya’s twin kidnaps Amy. Danya rescues Amy. Plus intervening adventures. Also includes: a giant science mystery, a terrorist rebel organization, and pirates. And dragons.
Overall: Fun, rip-roaring space adventure with a dollop of romance.
