Review: Lessons in French by Laura Kinsale (2010)

Heat Factor: The time they have sex when they’re seventeen is a little too real

Character Chemistry: It’s obvious to everyone but her that he’s head over heels

Plot: First love reunited

Overall: This book is ridiculous

Review: Marrying the Billionaire by Allie Winters (2021)

The Bishop Brothers, Book #2

Review of The Bishop Brothers, Book #1

Heat Factor: Considering how much they’re into each other, it’s a pretty slow burn (but with some intermediate stuff going on)

Character Chemistry: I was a little worried because Serena started out determined to show Archer how much she’s worth marrying, but they sorted themselves out

Plot: Serena was supposed to marry Archer’s brother in book one but ended up jilted at the altar, so Archer stepped in to save the day and the business deal

Overall: This book was very chill (except I wanted to rage at Archer’s dad), but also very awesome

Review: The Care and Feeding of Waspish Widows by Olivia Waite (2020)

Feminine Pursuits, Book 2

Review of Feminine Pursuits, Book 1

Heat Factor: Slow, steady, burn.

Character Chemistry: So much pining! But also, believable BFFs. And they do that thing where they call each other by last name and I swoon every time.

Plot: A year in the life of Flood and Griffin.

Overall: The plot meanders but sometimes a book (even a romance) is more than a tight plot. I recommend reading this one.

Review: Charming as Puck by Pippa Grant (2019)

Heat Factor: You’ll start it for the steam, but you’ll stick with it for the one-liners.

Character Chemistry: It starts off strong and just pretty much stays that way

Plot: Pro hockey player and very nice nerd veterinarian start off as friends with benefits and veterinarian grows a backbone, wherein pro hockey player suddenly shapes up and their relationship ends up being just genuinely nice. And hilarious.

Overall: Worth a read.
